I know a lot of people are still as unprepared as I was. That's why you see supermarkets and hardware stores being cleared out just before a bad storm or hurricane forecast. I was lucky to be invited to a press conference at Battery City Park, NY to hear all about it. The
Duracell Power Forward program has been donating batteries to people affected by natural disasters since 2011. The program is expanding it's fleet and joining The Weather Channel and Ready.gov to reach more people. The five custom-made vehicles are designed for the specific needs of each region and strategically stationed at hubs in Manchester, NH; St. Louis, MO; New Orleans, LA and San Francisco, CA to help reach any disaster in the continental US within 24 hours. We were given a tour of the vehicles and I was so amazed at the power of these trucks. They are so powerful that they can hold and tow thousands of pounds of batteries and emergency tools. They have super bright LED lights to illuminate, secure lockers to charge devices and a WiFi hot spot with a 50' range. One of the vehicles called the Rugged Responder even acts as a snorkel with a door seal that allows it to go into 5' of water!
I always reach for Duracell whenever I need batteries. It is so good to know that my favorite brand is doing so much to help support so many people when they need it the most.
