DIY Toddler Floor Cushion #Tutorial

I saw this adorable tutorial for a Toddler Floor Cushion on Pinterest. As soon as I saw the pin I went to Joann's Fabrics and Crafts store and got some home décor fabric. I was happy that they had all home décor fabrics on sale for 50% off. I found this really cute pink and white fabric for $4.50 a yard. The whole pattern only takes one yard of fabric. I bought some white piping for a couple bucks and a 10 ounce bag of filling for another few dollars (I had about half a bag in my own stash so just needed another small bag to add). The whole cushion cost me about $10 bucks.

The pattern is from Living with Punks. It was super easy to follow. I finished it in less then a couple of hours.

My daughter absolutely loves it. You can see her carrying it by the handle and putting down anywhere she wants to sit.

Do you have any great Pinterest finds you love for a child's room?

  3. I could also see making this a little bit bigger for my doggie. If we sit a pillow on blanket on the floor, she gravitates towards it. I've never sewn with piping though. I'm still a pretty basic when it comes to sewing

  9. Oh wow, this is so happening in our house. I have been dying to get bean bags for our kids simply because they would be cozy - but this seems like it would take up a lot less space and be a lot easier to make. (Plus those beans can get really messy) Thanks for posting, I'm bookmarking that tutorial now!

  11. I wish I knew how to sew. Both of my grandmother's did beautiful work but I didn't appreciate the artistry involved until I was older.

Your cushion is adorable and I really like the colors.
