DIY Weight Loss Command Center

I am finally getting the motivation to stay on the second part of my weight loss journey and it is starting to feel like a routine. I find that when I plan and am super organized it is easy for me to stay on track, eat the right things and have time to exercise. I love using a planner but I don't always update it on time or have it next to me.

I wanted something big and visual so I decided to create a command center in my living room because it's the room that I am at the most in my house. I found these really cool wall organizing/planning squares in Target that I have been deciding what to do with, so this was perfect!

I have a huge White Board calender decal that I will be writing my events, exercise of the day and monthly goals on. Eventually I want to plan a whole month at time so that I can be super organized and prepared. Until I get into the swing of things I am planning out one week at a time.

The white board square is my daily menu. This way I can visually see what I am going to eat for the day and I can avoid just picking something out of the fridge and mindlessly eating. I also added my snacks so that I can have those ready for when I get hungry in between means.

The magnetic square is going to be used to hold things like my exercise cards, magazine clippings and pens and chalk.

The chalkboard square is so that I can easily track how much water and green tea I am drinking. Though I have apps on my phone to keep track of water I tend to not use them. I think just tracking it on the chalkboard will be easier for me since I like to write things down instead of using my phone.

Of course I have to have some kind of inspiration/motivation so I created a "One Pound At a Time" printable. Sometimes I see the big number of weight I have to lose and get discouraged. Thinking about it as one pound at a time definitely seems more doable! You can also download and print my Food/Exercise and Water Signs.

This is my basic command center for now and I will be adding to it and sharing it as I go along. I also will be changing up the inspiration/motivation poster every month so stay tuned for more printables!

How do you keep track of your health and exercise efforts?

  9. I like to have a calendar too, but like you if it's not right there in front of me I'll forget to update it. Or I'll think I'm going to update it later...and then later doesn't come. I think your command center is a great idea!
