Fall Weight Loss: Week 12

I lost 1.1 pounds for a total weight loss of 33.6 pounds.

I stayed on plan the entire week and only ate out for one meal. I have been doing really well with the meal planning and have been trying to use up my food stock. I am still loving the oopsie rolls this week and made a big batch to eat with sandwiches. For the meal I ate out I had a beef shish kebab from a street vendor. Then we treated my daughter and nephew to some fast food. Big mistake because they gave me a regular coke instead of diet! I took one sip and knew right away and had to change it. About fifteen minutes later I had the biggest headache I had in a long time. This experience is enough to make me never want a cheat day.

I went on walks almost every day this week and even took an extra walk while doing laundry just to track some extra steps and points on my new REM-Fit Active tracker. Walking is becoming so enjoyable for me now and I love the quality time my toddler and I spend outside together. We talk about the trees and the leaves and the birds and it's fun explaining to her how everything works. I decided to get even more points on my tracker by doing some TaeBo. I asked my daughter to join me and she became my workout buddy. I was amazed that I could do everything and the workout was perfect because there wasn't too much jumping around or noise making for the neighbors downstairs. One of my legs has been bothering me for a week now and the TaeBo heightened the pain the next day. I took a break from exercising and walking that day and then was back to myself after that. I still haven't done any strength training this week so I am going to make that a priority this week. I am also going to try to hit the gym at least 2 days this week.

To indulge or not to indulge? What will you be eating this Thanksgiving?

Fall Weight Loss: Week 11

I lost 1.2 pounds for a total weight loss of 33 pounds.

I just didn't feel like exercising this week so I spent all of my energy homeschooling my daughter and getting lots of blog work and promoting done. My daughter is going through a stage of not wanting to do "Learning Time" so I have so sit with her and make sure she does it right. I also spent a lot of time promoting my posts this week. I never knew how much work went into promoting a Holiday Gift Guide!

I stayed on plan the entire week and enjoyed eating some Oopsie Rolls with my meals. I was eating some almond flour minute buns for a while but decided to give the oopsie rolls another chance. The oopsie rolls are less carbs and calories and so fluffy and delicious! I went out to the movies to watch Peanuts with my husband and daughter and brought in some Moon Cheese and pecans to snack on. Then we went out to Texas Roadhouse and I had a delicious steak and salad. It has been so easy for me to stay on plan with Keto eating because there are so many yummy foods you can have.

I didn't do any formal exercise at home this week. I went out for a walk on Thursday with tons of shopping and running around that my feet hurt when I got home. On Friday I ran around with my niece, nephew and daughter in Legoland to check out the Star Wars Display. Then I was so excited to get my REM Active activity tracker so I decided to test it out with a walk with my daughter on Sunday.

  • Take vitamins and probiotics.
  • Get in 8000 daily steps.
  • Start TaeBo and strength training workouts at least 4 times this week.
  • Test at least two Thanksgiving keto recipes.

How do you motivate yourself to exercise when you don't want to?

Fall Weight Loss: Week 10

This week I lost 3.6 pounds for a total weight loss of 31.2 pounds. I went back into the archive of this blog to see how I was doing two months into my weight loss journey last year. When I saw the total pounds lost in two months I was shocked that it was the same exact amount that I lost last week which made 2 months into my current weight loss journey! I remember my journey last year and doing the drastic Dr. Oz Weight Loss Plan and Skinny Jane diet. While I did lose a lot of weight doing those diets I feel that Keto is so much easier for me. I am enjoying the foods so much and don't have to kill myself working out like I did last year. #LovingKeto!

I did a huge shopping haul at Costco to get some quality meats. We are trying to eat only meats that are steroid, hormone and antibiotic free. We also only eat uncured bacon which has helped me tremendously with the amount of sodium we are consuming. Buying food like this can look very costly when I think about my food bill before. It tends to even out though since I cook almost every meal at home and we don't eat out a lot.

This week I took a lot of walks with the toddler. I am enjoying these mild fall weather days and want to get as much walks in as possible before the weather gets colder and the snow starts showing up. I love keeping my toddler active and she enjoys the mommy and me time outside which is a change to our normal routine. I pushed the limit on how much she could walk and she really surprised me but not once telling me she was tired. It also helps me  when I bring her home tired so that she can take a nice nap while I cook dinner. Along with our walks I did some TaeBo videos I found on YouTube and some strength training workouts 3 times this week.

  • Take vitamins and probiotics.
  • Get in 8000 daily steps.
  • Continue TaeBo and strength training workouts at least 4 times this week.
  • Test at least two Thanksgiving keto recipes.
