In two weeks it will be a year that I have been on this weight loss journey. I am definitely not at the weight I wanted to be at. First it was being too loose during the summer time and then it was going to tons of events and parties during the holidays. I am still down 40 pounds from when I started so I guess some weight loss is better than no weight loss or a gain.
I need something more structured and planned with both nutrition and exercise so I started the 30-Day Realistic Resolution challenge from Gorton's and Sparkpeople while still following a low carb diet. Each day it sets a realistic challenge like drinking more water to slowly get you into the path of weigh loss without getting overwhelmed. You can sign up yourself and join me on the challenge here.
Though I love following a low carb diet and eat things like sausage and bacon, I have to start eating healthier sources of protein like salmon and grilled fish. Gorton's makes it so easy for me to plan and eat healthy seafood products. The grilled varieties are low in fat, gluten-free and 100 calories or less per serving! They now have their Simply Bake Tilapia and Salmon fillets that are individually packed in a bake-perfect oven bag that you just put on a baking sheet and in the oven for a perfectly cooked fish every time without making a mess. You can download a coupon to try out the Gorton's grilled fish.
I have tried the grilled varieties before and loved how easy they were to make and how delicious they were. Since I tried the grilled kind before I was excited to try the Simply bake. I love how even easier it is cook. It was seasoned perfectly and it was really no mess.
To get me all ready for the challenge Gorton's sent me an amazing Challenge package that included 5 coupons to purchase my grilled and simply bake products, an insulated tote bag, a SparkPeople Cookbook, The Spark book and a SparkPeople Total Body Sculpting Workout DVD.
I am excited to start the exercise portion of the program by following the workout DVD. I may not be able to do everything because I don't want to disturb my downstairs neighbors but I will be doing my best to get the sweat on!

ReplyDeleteWe eat a lot of baked fish especially tilapia in my house. I love to take the fillets add some butter, garlic salt, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice and some mixed vegetables and seal them up tight and bake them. It is a whole meal that is especially healthy and tastes delicious. I haven't tried the Gorton's fillets yet but will definitely give them a try they look delicious.
