Summer's Over Time to Fall into Weight Loss

This summer has been full of ups and downs on this weight loss journey. There were periods were I did really well with eating and exercising and periods were I did really bad. I ate lots of junk and summer fried foods and really just enjoyed my summer without thinking about my weight loss. I don't want to dwell on it because I had a great summer so I am just going to jump back into weight loss now that Fall is almost here. I really don't have any excuse now not to do it so here we go again.

My husband has started to eat low carb and it has really worked for him with lots of pounds lost in just a short week. He feels so energetic and doesn't have those hunger sugar spikes. I started on a 30-day Keto plan but since it was eating the same food over and over I got bored of it and only made it a few days. I will be sticking with the daily macros that I calculated using this plan but with my own recipes and foods. I will be creating a faux mac n cheese and I hope it works out. Recipe coming soon.

I do have to say that I am pretty proud of how active I have been. My sister spends the summers in the Bronx while the kids are out of school so she has been my walking buddy. My sister loves taking walks and going shopping so she would always drag me along. Having to take my daughter to soccer every week also really helped keep me active since it's a long walk to and from the bus. I am hoping to continue her on soccer so I can have that weekly long walk. My toddler and I have also started on our Toddler/Mommy walks so she can stay active just like mommy. I will also be doing the 28-Day Home Workout Challenge from Spark People.

What do you do to get back on track after the summer?

  1. I traveled a lot over the summer and really didn't pay attention to what I ate. I need to get back on track!

  2. We're guilty too. Sept 1 was our get-back-on-track start date. Doing pretty well so far!

  3. I'm sorry to see Summer go. I've increased my daily walking distance as well as the volume of fresh fruits and veggies I eat. It's so much easier to do that when the weather's nice and fresh foods are readily available.

  4. We walk to school and back almost every school day. We also eat a lot less while at school because there's not so much time for snacks.

  5. I eat a lot less over the summer but now that fall and the cooler weather is approaching I will definitely have to start watching what goes in my mouth!
