Dreambaby® Furniture Anchors and Television Straps

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

As a first time mom I am always concerned with the safety of my toddler. One of the best gifts I got at my baby shower was a big child proofing kit. When my daughter became mobile I started childproofing all over the house with corner bumpers, socket covers, etc.

I never thought about furniture anchors until I heard about the Dreambaby® products. I see my daughter more and more interested in her dresser drawers and the knobs. I always tell her "don't touch" but as a toddler there is always the need to explore and experiment.

I feel so much safer now that we used the Dreambaby® furniture anchors. I placed the furniture straps behind my daughter's dresser.

Then I placed the furniture anchor behind my own dresser.

I will also be reviewing the Television Straps as soon as they become available. We have our flat screen TV on a TV stand so I always make sure to keep an eye on her when she is in the living room next to the TV. I was actually considering mounting the TV on the wall for extra security but now I don't have to because of the Television Straps by Dreambaby®

Placing the furniture straps and anchors definitely helps give me piece of mind. They were so easy to install and are really inexpensive. According to a 2013 study by the American Academy of Pediatrics, “The number of children injured by a TV tip-over has increased 125 percent between 1990 and 2011. Each year, more than 17,000 children are treated in hospitals for TV-related injuries. That's one child every 30 minutes, and children ages five and younger are at the highest risk for injury”.

  2. My kids are 5 and 7 and I still want these to protect my TV! Those rough little boys are going to knock it over one day wrestling in the living room I swear! Seriously though, my oldest was 2 when he pulled a dresser over on himself trying to climb up the drawers...he was super lucky the way it fell, he didn't get hurt, but terrified me!

  4. Some times I don't think parents realize just how important these straps are! I have them all almost all my furniture, I even put some on my nannies stuff. She tends to use her book cases to "steady" herself I'm always afraid one is going to collapse on her.

  21. Great product, especially for T.V's and dressers. You can never be too careful. Every parent should receive this in a take home basket from the hospital.

  35. How big of a hole does it leave? We rent and I wouldn't want them charging us for excessive "damage" to the wall.

  36. These are literally a lifesaver. I have read stories of children passing away from pulling furniture over on top of them. It is just a horrible thing. The childproofing kits are definitely worth it! There is nothing better to spend your $ on except maybe food.

  37. Safety is so important! When my son was little, he tried to move a bookshelf, by shaking it! It was so scary!

  39. They say it's not safe to have tvs on stands/dressers around kids period.. that's why we hang our tvs high on the walls out of the kids reaches. They also don't have dressers so they cant pull them over on themselves.

  40. Safety is so soooo important! We have pretty much all our furniture anchored it because I'd have a panic attack over anything! Thank you for sharing!!!
